On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I am delighted to extend warm greetings to everyone marking the 100th anniversary of Finland’s declaration of independence.
Finland’s Independence Day is an important occasion and national public holiday in Finland. It is a time for this country’s citizens to reflect on their rich history and celebrate their achievements, culture and heritage. And, it is a day for members of Ontario’s Finnish-Canadian community to come together in a spirit of pride.
We are so fortunate to be part of a province rooted in such incredible diversity. The Finnish community has provided important contributions to our social, economic and cultural fabric. They make Ontario an even better place for people of every background to live.
Please accept my very best wishes for an enjoyable and memorable Finland’s Independence Day.
