On behalf of the Government of Ontario, I am I am delighted to add my voice in celebration of Lebanese Independence Day, which commemorates the anniversary of Lebanon’s independence.
On this day, people around the world come together to celebrate Lebanon’s rich heritage and history, which includes the country’s fulfillment of a hard-fought dream to achieve sovereignty with the declaration of independence in 1943.
November is also proposed as Lebanese Heritage Month in Ontario, which is an opportunity to honour the Lebanese Canadians’ many impressive contributions in the arts, sports, politics, academia and so many other spheres in the life of our province. Lebanese Canadians play an integral role in communities across Ontario and truly enrich the multicultural diversity of the province.
Happy Lebanese Independence Day!
